The Caribe Resort comprises three six-story, 200-tenant buildings of luxury condominiums in Orange Beach, Alabama, a resort town on the Gulf of Mexico. Amenities at the ocean-front resort include snack bars, swimming pools, a fitness center, multiple elevators, a guard shack, underground and covered parking, and many other luxuries associated with resorts of its stature.
Heavily dependent upon seasonal variables, electrical consumption at the Caribe averaged about $250,000 annually. With high humidity and elevated temperatures in the spring, summer, and fall seasons, air conditioning and cooling costs contribute significantly to the Caribe’s expenses.
Working with the Facilities Director for all three of the Caribe buildings, the two-day Tune®installation included 16 devices - one for each breaker box in the common areas of the Caribe’s Building B and guard shack.
“Finding savings across three buildings seemed an impossible task. I didn’t expect much, but the results are undeniable.”
Jeff Keane,Facilities Director, Caribe Resort
Following installation, a savings impact evaluation was performed by CHI Energy, a trusted third-party analyst, to determine the savings delivered by Tune®.*
CHI Energy’s 12-month analysis* of the first building showed monthly savings above 14%, and Tune® paid for itself in the first year. Given the results, the Caribe continued to install Tune®devices across their other two buildings and achieved similar results.
